Ivy Jane | Gwinnett County Child Photographer

I have been so lucky to be able to watch this little girl grow. Her name is Ivy and I've been photographing her literally since birth! She has the most wonderful personality and it shows in every photo. I know I may be a tad biased (she's my one and only niece) but honestly, isn't she pretty? It was a cold and rainy day when we did this shoot so we started inside with her party dress and then her casual clothes. It was still cold out, but the rain had subsided enough to do some out on the porch. I love how we got so many different shots all in one location!

Easiest Shoot Ever! | Gwinnett County Child Photographer

I have been photographing kids for a long time (a loooong time) so I didn't sweat when my cousins asked me to shoot their 5 and 2 year old. I know that it is part of the process for me to make loud noises to get their attention, crack cheesy jokes (which I'm awesome at) and act like the tickle monster. I did not, however, expect this curve ball. These two handsome boys walked onto the backdrop and hysterically laughed...at nothing! They laughed so hard that I was laughing at them and could barely keep my camera steady. Again, they were laughing at NOTHING! No jokes, no funny noises. I didn't say "I'm gonna get you" once. It was definitely a first, but I couldn't be happier with the results!

Game Over! | Monroe Wedding Photographer

We couldn't wait for Ashley and Will's wedding after shooting their engagement photos. They are such a great couple and so in love. Their small church wedding was filled with love and a few tears (from me). It was all very romantic until we get to the reception and find Will's Georgia Bulldog cake with the words "Game Over" written in (yummy) icing! The cake was delicious and it didn't seem the phase the bride, so maybe it's just another was to say "...and they lived happily ever after!"
Congratulations, Ashley and Will!

Senior Pics are Not just for Girls! | Gwinnett County Senior Photographer

When I spoke to this guy's Mom, she said she wanted his senior photos to be masculine. So, going to Vines Garden Park was just not going to work! I found a dirt road by the railroad tracks and knew the instant I saw it that it was the spot for him. Not only did it have the railroad tracks, but it had piles of railroad ties, tons of greenery, and two aged and rugged train cars. The location was picturesque as was this guy. . .I mean seriously, he is dreamy ;-) I had no problem getting some awesome shots and I am so excited to show these to his Mom. Senior pics are not just for girls!!! It is an amazing time in a person's life and deserves to be captured.

Pretty in Pink | Gwinnett County Child Photographer

For some reason the second those little chocolate bunnies hit the shelves, girls feel the urge to buy a new dress to wear on Easter Sunday. I have searched and searched this week for the perfect one and not for my 4 month old...for me. (In my defense, her Grammy made hers.) Audrey and Norah's mom bought these adorable, matching dresses months ago. Smart lady cause it's slim pickings out there.

Shooting these girls outdoors was a great idea. Not only did we get the beautiful spring blooms in the background, the girls were relaxed and let their real smiles come out! We had a great time laughing, playing and posing.

Happy Easter from K&C!

All dogs go to...the chapel! | Rockdale County Engagement Photographer

I love this couple! Brandy and Mark are so amazing together and Mark is the only person on the planet that accepts/shares Brandy's animal obsession. Yes, obsession! Shooting this handsome twosome was no problem, but when we added 6 dogs...um....it got a little chaotic.

I cannot wait for their October wedding on Tybee Island even though only one dog will be attend the wedding. I just hope that my camera strap matches my bridesmaid's dress! ;)

Then and Now | Gwinnett County Child Photographer

It's no secret that photographers take pictures of anything that will sit still. Well, my (Christina) 5 nieces and nephews don't exactly sit still, but they are my favorite subjects. It was time for us to update pics of all of the kids in our family including our new addition (my 4 month old). My mother-in-law bought all the kids matching outfits and what was the first thing I do? Made the pictures black and white, of course. She'll probably kill me but I just LOVE black and white portraits.

2008 was the last time that we had a "mega-session" of all of the kids, so here are the then and now:
I am literally speechless at how much these kiddos have changed. I know that kids grow up, but c'mon! I was there the day Joel was born. Katelynn was only 7 months old when Chris and I started dating. Gracie and Josh were only 3 years old. And, Chris was in jeopardy of Jonah stealing me away (he had a huge crush on me...until I became his aunt)

And no Barnett family photo session would be complete without a few of these:

Welcome Sweet Baby Girl | Gwinnett County Newborn Photographer

Newborn sessions are one of our favorite things. I mean, what is not to love about a sweet sleepy baby? I had a wonderful session with 10-day-old Isabelle this morning and it couldn't have gone better! She let me put her in any position with almost no complaints, except for the need for a snack break ;) As you can see, she sporting a Florida Gators hat- I'm sure her Daddy will be happy to see she is smiling in that one!
